FCO Receives Funding for Grower Webinars on Mental Health and Wellness
FCO recently received approval for a grower webinar focused on Mental Health and Wellness which will serve to distribute resources from AgWO on the Farmer Wellness Initiative.For more information and to access links to the webinar series that this project is a part of, click here.
The Farmer Wellness Initiative provides Ontario farmers, farm families, farm employees, and spouses and dependents of farm employees with free, unlimited mental health counselling, specific to the unique challenges that can be experienced by the agricultural community. Accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, in English and French, farmers can call 1-866-267-6255 to speak to a counsellor. This service is provided by TELUS Health.
Agriculture Wellness Ontario was formed out a need for mental health and wellness resources for farmers and their families. It includes a suite of free programs which you can learn more about at the AgWO website.
This webinar is funded by the Sowing the Seeds of Wellness Initiative, which is funded by the governments of Canada and Ontario through the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP), a 5- year, federal-provincial-territorial initiative.
