FCO Receives Funding for Grower Webinars on Mental Health and Wellness
FCO recently received approval for a grower webinar focused on Mental Health and Wellness which will serve to distribute resources from AgWO on the Farmer Wellness Initiative. The webinar was not recorded as we wanted to encourage participation by protecting the identities of the participants. Here are a few resources that farmers can take advantage of that are all free and completely confidential:Ag Wellness Ontario Intro to Mental Health video
Farmer Wellness Initiative provides Ontario farmers, farm families, farm employees, and spouses and dependents of farm employees with free, unlimited mental health counselling, specific to the unique challenges that can be experienced by the agricultural community. Accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, in English and French, farmers can call 1-866-267-6255 to speak to a counsellor. This service is provided by TELUS Health.

Guardian Network Registration Form (Virtual): The Guardian Network Training is intended for people who meet with farmers on a regular basis and gives them the skills to identify when farmers are in crisis and to connect them to mental health resources such as the ones listed above.
Agriculture Wellness Ontario was formed out a need for mental health and wellness resources for farmers and their families. It includes a suite of free programs which you can learn more about at the AgWO website.
