Sign Up Today for the 41st Annual Cecil Delworth Charity Golf Tournament!
Event Details
Date: | June 26, 2013 |
---|---|
Address: | Pelham, Ontario, Canada |
Event Description
The tournament will be held at Peninsula Lakes Golf Club in Fenwick, Ontario. That 569 Regional Road 20, Fenwick, On. L0S 1C0
Registration will start at 11:00 am, with a shotgun start at 1:00 pm.
The cost is $200 +HST per player. This cost includes the 18 hole round of golf as well as a cart, lunch and a buffet dinner to precede the awards banquet.
In 2012, for every dollar of industry support, the Foundation was able to raise $10.00 from matching government programs to support this mission. $122,000 grower seed money grew to $1.2 million of floriculture specific research and development.
Without $1 from the industry, the matching $10.00 would not be available.
Thanks to industry support, which included $6,000 raised at last year’s golf tournament, floriculture research continues on:
· Irrigation and leachate management and grower technical support
· Aphid biological control improvements in flowers
· Whitefly management on poinsettia cuttings using bio-friendly dips
· New biopesticide, minor use pesticides and biological control registrations
· Seasonal and climate influences on predatory mite performance against thrips
All proceeds from the tournament support the Cecil Delworth Foundation for Floriculture Research.
