Temporary Foreign Worker Webinar Resources and Feedback
In case you missed it, FCO presented a webinar hosted by Service Canada that focused on TFW Compliance Inspections and covered Service Canada's authorities and the inspection process. This FCO webinar was by far the best attended thus far and we know that not all growers were able to attend!
As the information in the presentation could not be recorded because it becomes out of date with every change to the process, we are looking into holding a second webinar. We would like to allow more growers the opportunity to ask questions directly to Service Canada as the Q & A proved to be the most valuable part of the webinar!

Your employment agreement
- On or before the foreign worker’s first day of work, the employer must give the foreign worker a copy of their employment agreement.
- It must be in English or French (the foreign worker’s chosen official language of Canada).
- Both the worker and the employer must sign this agreement.
- The employment agreement must refer to the same occupation, wages and working conditions as those outlined in the offer of employment.
- Employers can develop and use their own employment agreement as long as it contains all the necessary information. Here is a sample template that could also be used employment agreement template.
Your Rights are Protected
- On or before the foreign worker’s first day of work, the employer must give the foreign worker a copy of the most recent version of the Your Rights are Protected.
- The onus is on the employer to ensure they are up to date on program requirements, which would include verifying the TFWP website for any program updates and/or information to be provided to TFWs.
- It must be in the TFW’s preferred official language of Canada (English or French).
- Additional language options are available here.
- Your Rights are Protected must also be posted in a readily available location (i.e. the workplace, accommodations, bulletin board) in both English and French.
