52nd Annual Golf Tournament – What a Hot One!
Despite the extreme temperature, the event was a sell-out success, with a shotgun start at noon that set the pace for the exciting day, raising resources for floriculture research. Participants stayed hydrated thanks to the generous distribution of water and Gatorade from HortProtect.
The tournament culminated in a delightful steak dinner where numerous prizes were awarded. Special congratulations were extended to Lindsay Voogt for winning both the Ladies Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin awards, Sean Chiki for clinching the Men’s Longest Drive, and Bobby Taylor took home the Men’s Closest to the Pin award.
The highlight of the evening was presenting our highest award to the tournament champions, Jon Horbach, Michael Overweg, Tom Butcher, and James Armstrong.
FCO thanks all participants, sponsors, staff, and volunteers for making the event a memorable one and looks forward to next year’s competition.
The FCO Golf Tournament is an annual event that brings together growers and industry supporters to compete in a friendly but competitive environment to support floriculture research. The tournament is known for its well-organized structure and the camaraderie it fosters among participants.
