Welcome to Flowers Canada Growers (FCG)!  Our organization represents floriculture greenhouse growers and industry partners across Canada. We are a grower community that proactively addresses common challenges to our industry.  Our mandate is to identify these challenges, clearly communicate them to government and whenever possible implement solutions that benefit both our industry and the Canadian economy.  Canadian Floriculture accounts for:
  • $1.4 billion in farm gate sales
  • $5.3 billion estimated total economic impact
  • 22,160 full and part-time employees in the greenhouse sector

NEW! Innovation Update - SR&ED 4/27/2012

On March 29, 2012 the Federal Government presented their 2012 Budget which included changes to Canada's Innovation strategy.  The most prominent of these announced changes was a reduction in innovation support through the SR&ED program.

NEW! FIP Biocontrol Project Reports 5/1/2012

In 2010 and 2011 Flowers Canada (Ontario) Inc. partnered with 65 growers to conduct on-farm trials of biological controls on 28 different flower crops.

Compass (trifloxystrobin) Label Expansion Approved 10/20/2011

Compass (trifloxystrobin) was recently approved for new uses in Greenhouse and Outdoor Ornamentals.

Flowers Canada Growers speaks with one voice on issues that directly affect growers.  Many benefits and cost savings have been realized by our growers:

  • Helped the industry in managing outbreak of quarantine pest and negotiated government compensation to affected producers.
  • Ensured equitable government payment of CAIS and other farm pay-outs to floriculture growers.
  • Generated and managed $3.1 Million (last year) in research dollars for the industry with direction of our grower research committee.
  • Communicated with government to ensure floriculture access to new Agri-Invest suite of programs.
