Prorogue of Parliament Affects Agriculture Related Bills 1/15/2010

The federal government's decision to prorogue Parliament until March has caught at least a couple of agriculture-related bills in its wake.

A bill to approve Canada's proposed free trade agreement with Colombia has been suspended and will need to be reintroduced in the new Parliamentary session, scheduled to begin March 3. Tariffs on imported cut flowers will stay unchanged until the bill can be debated and voted on.
