Today, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, along with other federal partners, launched the Invasive Species Web Portal to create a single starting place to learn about how to help protect the environment from invasive species by providing links to credible sources.
The theme for this year's International Day for Biological Diversity is invasive species. Invasive species are non-native plants, animals, aquatic life and micro-organisms that when introduced outside of their natural environment, can threaten Canada's ecosystems, economy and society.
